Welcome to the web site of the Advisory Council on International Affairs
The Advisory Council on International Affairs (AIV) of the Netherlands is an independent body which advises government and parliament on foreign policy, particularly on issues relating to human rights, peace and security, development cooperation and European integration.
The AIV is an advisory body for the Dutch government and parliament. In particular its reports address the policy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Defence and the Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation. The AIV has four permanent committees covering these areas. You can read more about the AIV and its work by clicking the link 'Information about the AIV' on this page.
